Europe is full of fun-filled festivities during the warm months of summer – and the United Kingdom excels at offering some of the most top notch music festivals in the world. There’s no shortage of interesting fairs and concerts that offer anywhere from electronic rave to traditional rockabilly. Some festivals have been around for years and years, even decades, yet changes have come few and far between for some – especially the festivals dedicated to their inception during the hippie movements of the 60’s and 70’s.
Either way, whichever style or whatever experience you’re looking for, one thing is true for everyone – road tripping to the event, be it by caravanning or with a motorhome, is all part of the experience! If you need insurance, take a look at the Caravan Club website.

Personally, I love to road trips, especially when I’m joined with good friends. Instantly a journey on the road feels like an adventure to me, and my excitement level shows as it paramounts. I don’t know what it is about a good road trip with friends, but fun conversations, crazy foolish antics and sporadic pitstops seem to naturally flow the moment the key turns and the engine starts. Many of the soon to be mentioned festivals are marked up on many traveler’s bucket lists, and many seem to agree that just to say they’ve been to, say, the Glastonbury or the Virgin, and even the Bestival is enough to excite people each and every year – then you have to add in the great entertainment and amazing artists, AND the aforementioned fun of a road trip with some buddies – you basically spell out the most fun anyone could possibly have.

Here are some of the UK’s top festival events:

Glastonbury
The Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts is a performing arts festival based in Pilton, England. It's known for featuring some of the world's top musical acts, but also for dance, theater, circus and cabaret as well. Since its inception, Glastonbury has become one of the most renowned events worldwide. It’s typically help the last weekend in June, lasting 3-5 days.

Bestival
Bestival is another world renowned festival held on the Isle of Wright in England. It's a rather new festival, as far as festivals go (est. 2004), but it's grown rapidly as one of the most popular events of the year. It typically features some of the world's top indie, pop, hip hop, and dance musical acts. Bestival lasts 4 days and is held in late summer.

V Festival
The V Festival, also known as the Virgin Festival (for its partnership with Virgin Media Group), which has become well known for the way it holds its lineup in two separate locations, where the artists perform one day and switch to the other location for the next, and vice versa. The V Festival is held in August, being simultaneously located at Hylands Park in Chelmsford, England and at Weston Park, Staffordshire, England.

Reading & Leeds Festival
The Reading and Leeds Festivals are annual music festivals that take place simultaneously in August. The Reading Festival is based at Little John's Farm in Reeding, England and the Leeds Festival is based at Bramham Park in Leeds, England. Both festivals share the same lineup, rotating similarly to the V Festival. The Reeding Festival is the original of the two, dating back to 1961, where it originated as the National Jazz Festival.
