City breaks: Where in the world...?

If you're planning a city break this year, you'll already know that you've got a fantastic choice of city locations to choose from.
For those who are in it for the long haul, a trip to New York City could be right up your street. Here you can tick off some of the world's most famous landmarks during your stay, including the iconic Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the Statue of Liberty, the Rockefeller Center and many more. Take a trip to Macy's, amble around Central Park and stop for a tasty toasted bagel in one of New York's famous bagel bars.

If you're after a city with a deeper, more established history, take your pick from scores of cities across Europe. Rome in Italy is the cream of the crop - as the former stronghold of the once all-powerful Roman Empire, you'll see reminders of Rome's turbulent past all over the city. From the haunting Colosseum to the remains of the magnificent Forum, a historical site literally scattered with Roman ruins, temples and pillared mansions, you'll be amazed at the sheer wealth of heritage on offer in this spectacular place.

For somewhere a little quirky, you can't beat a weekend in Amsterdam. From the Heineken Museum to the city's famous labyrinth of canals, there is plenty to see and explore. Or if you've got romance in mind, Paris is hard to beat. Once you've absorbed the view from high up on the Eiffel Tower, or gazed at treasures in the Louvre Museum, head off to reward yourself with a fabulous meal in one of Paris' top-class restaurants, or enjoy a quick and hearty pit-stop in a Parisian bistro.

There is so much to love about city breaks. Check out the huge range of city breaks with Co-operative Travel to gain inspiration on more fantastic escapes and to price up your perfect break. From far-flung adventures to romantic weekends close to home, it's all there - and plenty more besides!
