To snowmobile or to not snowmobile: That is the question

Adventure sports are something that I have never really gotten super into, but I definitely have a yearning to push myself, whether it being riding a snowmobile, whitewater rafting, or jumping out of a plane. All of which, I plan on doing during my current USA road trip. As Matt is driving, I am writing this, and while we’re going through the hills of the western Smokey Mountains, I couldn’t help but think about all of the interesting and adventurous activities that there are out there in the world, that I’ve probably never done, and then I think, ‘oh, my, oh my, what all I have missed throughout my life.’ I’ve never snowmobiled through the Rockies or the Alps, but heck, wouldn’t that be one of the coolest things a person can experience? I’ve also never skied, over water or snow, nor have I ever jet-skied, or bungee-jumped. I didn’t grow up in any sort of adventurous atmosphere, and for that, I now have the drive to prove myself by pushing myself.
With that said, I’ve been really thinking about all of the opportunities that are available along my current routing around the USA. And today, I thought I would talk about different snowmobile destinations that are regarded as top attractions around the country. So, without further ado, strap on your snowmobile helmet, and let’s go for a ride…

–Jackson Hole, Wyoming
If you would rather snowmobile through hundreds of miles of lovely forest, then Jackson Hole may be the perfect place for your next get away. The area offers picturesque scenery, with several ski resorts, a hot spring pool, and nearly endless trails to explore. To find out more information about trails and permits, stop by any one of these approved snowmobiling permit agents: Action Snowmobile and RV, Jackson Hole Cycle, Leisure Sports, Teton County Parks & recreation, and Wyoming Adventures.

–West Yellowstone, Montana
West Yellowstone is known as one of the top places for snowmobilers, people have named it the ‘Snowmobiling Capital of the World.’ Besides a consistent average of 15-inches of snow each season, this region of Montana offers visitors with gorgeous views, with plenty of snowmobile friendly terrains. For the best panoramic views overlooking Yellowstone, be sure to plan a lot of extra time, because there are over 300-miles of groomed, marked, and patrolled snowmobile trails.

–Petersville, Alaska
So, you’re looking for wild and untouched land, yet want spectacular and mesmerizing scenery to trek through? Well, Alaska is the place for you. While there are countless regions of Alaska that are both gorgeous AND snowmobile friendly, Petersville is a popular destination. It’s popular because of its amazing views of mountains and pure wilderness, but also for its close proximity to Denali National Park and the famous Mount McKinley.

Let me know your favorite snow attraction destinations below in the comments section… Let’s hope I can make it out to one of these brilliant locations, for some good ol’ fashioned fun. =)
