Situated at the center of the western world, London is a truly cosmopolitan city bustling with activity. All of this activity makes it one of the most exciting places to travel, filled with a variety of history, shopping, art, culture, and romantic backdrops. In fact London was recently named the most romantic city in the UK.
All of this activity and romance mean each day spent with your travel companion in London will be an action-packed adventure. This is why we have put together a list of four types of experience that the city is famous for, as choosing specific activities would be dizzying at best. Within each of the events below there are hundreds of possible ways to enjoy the city.

Go on a Date – Since you are travelling through the most romantic city in the whole of England, one of the most important things to do is head out on a date with your travel companion in London. Check out these great date ideas within the city including a stroll through Kensington Gardens and taking a ride on the famous London Eye. After a few awe-inspiring activities spend the evening having dinner at one of the many famous restaurants in the city. Here are some ideas left over from Valentine’s Day.

Enjoy the Art – London is a city filled with art. This ranges from public art installations across the city to galleries filled with the latest paintings and sculptures from today’s most prominent artists. Further there are a host of museums including the world famous Victoria and Albert museum, dedicated to the arts and culture scene.

Spend a Day Shopping – No visit to London would be complete without a day spent shopping. Enjoy a day shopping and window-shopping at such high-end stores as Harrods and Harvey Nicholls. London has shopping to suit anyone’s tastes because of its location, international feel, and people travelling there from all corners of the world.

Experience the History – London has sat at the center of Western History for the past four hundred years. The result is a nexus of history, art and culture to explore, including dozens of museums, and historical sites. Take an afternoon to visit the Churchill War Rooms, and learn how the man himself planned and executed the strategy to win the Second World War. Spend the afternoon visiting Buckingham Palace which is important to the history of the city and the British Monarchy. Finally be sure to take in a tour of the Parliament at Westminster, as this is where the system of government most used in the democratic world was created.
