4 Photo Opportunities You Can't Miss in Bora Bora

Few places on Earth are as picturesque as French Polynesia. With breathtaking beaches, crystal blue waters, and stunning mountain vistas, Bora Bora is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. It's no surprise that tens of thousands of people flock to this tiny Tahitian island each year for a little rest and relaxation. With so much natural beauty, it's easy to snap postcard-worthy pictures of your vacation. Check out these four photo opportunities you can't miss in Bora Bora.
Overwater Bungalows
Bora Bora is best known for its luxury resorts. Almost every picture you see of the island features a floating villa. To get the best vacation photos, check out the wide selection of five-star hotels in Bora Bora. Capture photos of the fish through the glass-bottom floor of your bungalow at the Intercontinental Le Moana Bora Bora. Snap images of the traditionally designed Polynesian huts perched atop the beautiful blue waters of the lagoon from the comfort of your private balcony at the Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort & Spa.

Mount Otemanu and Mount Pahia
Towering above the entire island, the twin peaks of Bora Bora's ancient volcano are the ultimate photo opportunity. No matter where you are on the island, you can spot the jagged spires of Mount Otemanu and Mount Pahia rising into the sky.
Hike up Mount Pahia for spectacular views of the island. Though it's not possible to climb to the top of Mount Otemanu, there are plenty of great places to snap photos at the mountain's base. Take a four-wheel-drive safari to see caves, World War II cannons, and ancient artifacts. A helicopter ride provides stunning views of the volcano from above.

Turquoise Waters
Bora Bora has some of the most stunning turquoise waters in the entire South Pacific. Whether you're swimming on Matira Beach or sailing around the island on a lagoon tour, it's impossible not to be captivated by the azure sea. Bora Bora is surrounded by small islands called motus. While many of the islands are closed to the public, you can catch a glimpse of them on your boat ride.

Put on a pair of flippers and a snorkel, and head underwater for great pictures of the colorful coral gardens and exotic tropical fish in Bora Bora's pristine waters. The water is so clear, you can even get some great shots of the marine life without getting wet. Keep your eyes open for a chance to photograph stingrays and sharks.

Sunrises and Sunsets
Be sure to wake up early and catch the sun as it rises into the sky. Get the best views from an over-water bungalow like the ones at the St. Regis Bora Bora Resort or the Conrad Bora Bora Nui. If you're more of a night owl, the sunsets are equally beautiful. You can even take a sunset cruise for a relaxing view of the spectacle from the sea. Some cruises include champagne and snacks or a romantic dinner.

Known as the pearl of the Pacific, Bora Bora is the perfect vacation destination if you're hoping to take postcard-worthy pictures. Capture the best memories at these four photo opportunities you can't miss in Bora Bora.
