5 Best Lobster Recipes for the Foodie Traveler

It is very common to serve lobster as the main course of a meal or even à la carte. While this is a delicious way to enjoy lobster, there are so many other possibilities. So, break away from the typical "surf and turf" dishes with one of these delectable recipes.
 Lobster Macaroni and Cheese
This recipe is courtesy of Ina Garten for Food Network Magazine. Here, the lobster takes the sideline as a comfort food and hearty one-dish meal. Preparing the dish is very similar to making a traditional stove top macaroni and cheese, except that it is then topped with a bread crumb mixture and placed in the oven for 30 minutes. It takes a little over an hour to create, but it is well worth the wait. This meal feeds 6-8 people.

Ingredients Needed: Kosher Salt, Vegetable Oil, Milk, Unsalted Butter, All-Purpose Flour, Gruyère Cheese, Extra-Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Pepper, Nutmeg, Handmade Bread Crumbs, and 1-1/2 pounds Cooked Lobster Meat.

Lobster Taco Al Carbone
This recipe is courtesy of Bobby Flay. Lobster Taco Al Carbone is an outdoor summer favorite because it is grilled. Instructions for making the Yellow Tomato-Chipotle Salsa are easy to follow, and it makes a great topping for the warm tacos.

Ingredients Needed: Lime, Chipotle in Adobo Puree, Honey, Extra-Virgin Olive Oil, Yellow Tomatoes, Red Onion, Fresh Cilantro, Salt, Pepper, Canola Oil, Green Onions, Corn Tortillas, Monterrey Jack Cheese, and 2-1/2 pounds of Lobster Tails.

Lobster and Corn Chowder
This recipe is courtesy of Cary Wheaton. If you are looking for a savory dish that will warm your tummy but is light enough for the summer months, then Lobster and Corn Chowder is your answer. It is a chunky chowder with bits of carrots, potatoes, corn, and chopped lobster.

Ingredients Needed: Celery, Carrot, Fresh Parsley, Bay Leaf, Yellow Onions, Garlic Cloves, Red Potatoes, Ears of Corn, Half & Half, Cayenne Pepper, Black Peppercorns, Salted Pork, Salt, White Pepper, and 4 pounds of Whole Lobster.

Lobster Salad Cocktail
This recipe is courtesy of The Neelys for Food Network Magazine. The Lobster Salad Cocktail is a basic blend of chopped lobster meat, mayonnaise, and fresh herbs. The mixture is placed into a martini glass for show. Ready in less than 20 minutes, it's perfect as an appetizer for a small dinner party.

Ingredients Needed: Mayonnaise, Lemons, Salt, Pepper, Celery, Shallot, Fresh Tarragon, Chives, Dry Rub, and 3 Lobster Tails.

Maine Lobster Roll
This recipe is courtesy of Pamela for My Man's Belly. The Maine Lobster Roll is a type of lobster salad taken to the next level by adding a top-sliced roll and garnish. The difference between the roll filling and the previous salad is the amount of additives. The goal of the combining agent in this recipe is to hold the filling together without overpowering the natural sweetness of the meat.

Ingredients Needed: Salt, Salad Dressing, Top Split Buns, Butter, Potato Chips, Mixed Baby Green Lettuce, and One Whole Lobster.

Fresh lobster can be quite expensive. On top of that, cooking it to perfection is rather tricky. Luckily there is Lobster Place, a seafood delivery company that properly prepares the lobster before it reaches your doorstep. This cuts out a lot of the guesswork, including undercooking, which could lead to health risks, and assures that you have perfectly cooked lobster for all of your favorite recipes.
