The principality of Andorra is a landlocked country located between France and Spain. This country is known for its many ski slopes, which is unsurprising given its prime location int he Pyrenees.
Skiing in the Pyrenees
There are many ski resorts in this mountainous country. The main ski resorts are Pas de la Casa, Vallnord and Arinsal, which has more than 60 kilometers of slopes. Some of the resorts are interconnected, ideal for exploring all that the mountains have to offer. La Massana village several ski-lifts and gondolas that connect the village to some of these ski resorts, where visitors will be able to rent ski and snowboarding equipment. More experienced skiers should head to the steeper slopes and pure snow found in the Arcalis Ski, an area that forms part of the Vallnord ski resort.

Grandvalira is one of the region's most popular ski resorts. This resort, located in the northeast part of the country, has more than a hundred ski slopes of all types. Visitors can enjoy alpine-skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoe walking and sleighing. For those who prefer post-ski activities instead of zigzagging down the mountains, do not fret: there are many aprés ski options, including ice skating and shopping.

Shopping in Andorra la Vella
Andorra la Vella is the country's largest city. Known for its many shops and for its wide range of après ski activities, this area is ideal for those who want to relax. Walking around the city center visitors will find many Romanesque buildings, and the city’s historical quarter has several ancient churches worth exploring. The city’s ancient bell tower is one of the city's main cultural attractions.

Relaxing in a spa
The Caldea thermal baths and spa is located in the city and is one of its most popular attractions. Inside Caldea visitors will find several swimming pools and jacuzzis, an outside heated pool with a jacuzzi in the center, pools with currents, Roman baths, steam baths and saunas.

Visiting the valleys
There is more to Andorra than mountains and shops: this area is famous for its valleys. The main valleys are Ansalonga, Arans and Ordino. These are ideal if you want to enjoy the views, discover mountain villages and try the traditional, local cuisine. The glacial valley of Madriu-Perafita-Claror is home to more than seven hundred species of plants, and the nearby Incles valley, located in the Canillo parish, is where you will find the glacial Cabana Sorda Lake. If you are into fishing and high-mountain diving, then you must visit this lake.
