In today’s modern world, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by our daily responsibilities, our jobs, our kids, our chores, and beyond, and as a result of this busy lifestyle, loved ones tend to become neglected and a rift grows where once a deep connection had existed. It’s easy to see why families and friends drift apart, especially when they don’t live very near one another. I’ve traveled the world and when you’re out of sight, your often out of mind, and sometimes once strong relationships suffer for it. But there are ways to combat that from happening, and it starts with communication. Sometimes words are hard, so why not send the gift of image.
The holiday season is upon us and while we’re in the middle of the shopping craze, it’s important to consider what means most to you this season. I’m not referencing religious intent, nor am I speaking of what you most want for Christmas. This year, dig a little deeper, think a little harder, and love a little more than ever before. Why? Because the most good that can come from this season isn’t a larger pile of gifts, or time spent in a service. It’s the effect you leave with your loved ones… But let me explain.
Everyone knows that one person who seems to have everything. Either they go out and buy what they need or they enjoy a simpler life without all the hoopla and trouble that comes with modern technology. I know a few from both world, and when the holidays come around, it’s damn near impossible to figure out what to buy or make for them… Why? Well, because they freaking have everything they could ever want! Every need managed for, all hobbies expanded and collected and stored within their homes, and all mere piques of interests sated.
This year, the weather in the US skipped from blistering heat and moved directly into the descent of winter, and with it the snow is falling in great sheets of white crystal, and so it’s beginning to feel a lot like the holidays. But the holiday season has turned into a nightmare. Did that last sentence catch you off guard? Well, it’s true. When many families must save all year to afford a gift giving extravaganza or choose going in debt for much of the new year to be able to pull off Christmas, then the holiday is becoming more stressful than it should. Big business and marketing companies have a heyday making people think that it’s all about the gifts…
There's not a single day that goes by that I don't have an audio book running through my head. About a decade ago, I came to the realization that by listening to music non-stop, I'm in fact wasting a good amount of time I could spend learning anything in the world I wanted. So, while I still amp up my speaker system daily to boost my mood, and to keep me grounded, I spend a whole lot more time with information flowing into my ears, ultimately spinning the wheels in my head. Why audio books? Well, why don't you let me explain...
Natural medicines, nootropics, and herbal remedies are seeing a tremendous slope upward, which is mainly due to the growing consciousness around the medical problem in the USA, which is spurred along by the pharmaceutical industry and their more-grey-than-white practices. Not only do they jack up the prices by thousands of a percent, they constantly market that they have a convenient little pill that will make everything better, for any and all conditions and symptoms of the human condition. What that does is create habitual users. And sure, of course that’s what’s good for business, for them, but it’s starting to have drastic and irreversible effects of people and our culture.
