Are you gearing up for your next vacation to paradise? Travel in style with Victorinox

I’ve recently had the pleasure of testing out one of the finest pieces of luggage on the market, by none other than Victorinox. Every year, the Swiss Army release new lines of knives, watches and travel gear, and from my experience, they’re always at or near the top. Top in design, construction, longevity, security, and overall quality. And I realized that this year is no different when I considered their new Lexicon Hardside collection.

When I travel I choose between two sets of gear, each meant for an entirely different experience. If I’m camping, trekking, backpacking or otherwise wandering this great world of ours, rather than, say, having a relaxed, luxurious vacation, the gear and the luggage changes, and so does the experience. If I’m roaming around Europe, I’m going to backpack with an oversized rucksack strapped to my back that holds everything I think I will need abroad. And if I’m going on a cruise, or a singular location vacation, I tend to lean more toward the optimum safety and comfort of a traditional luggage case like the Hardside collection, because of the security they offer when going through the conveyer nightmare at basically every airport, and they provide me with a sense of freedom and comfort.

The Hardside luggage collection represents everything you’d want in a modern high-end piece… It’s built to weather the worst, while providing the user with the best. It’s easy to use, holds a ton, keeps everything safe, and looks sleek, smooth, modern and sharp. The Hardside Medium, which is the one I opted for, is fitted with four super-recessed wheels that give your luggage a smooth ride, while the haul handle pops up and hides away to make for a quick and graceful exit when the time comes.

Inside, there are two zippered mesh pockets that are perfect for your small valuables, like your watch, phone charger, change, etc. And like most Victorinox luggage pieces, there are x-shaped compression straps that help you condense your clothing tight by limiting unwanted air filler. A zippered wall divider pocket separates the compression area from another section that I use for my laptop, tablet and work documents. The outside is made of a molded hardshell polycarbonate that gives the design a smooth, uninterrupted look. Since the handles are fitted into the design, the compact case handles more packing space than before; the Medium size is 73-liter, measuring at 11 x 17.7 x 26.8 in, and weighing 10.2 lb.

What I think is perhaps the most important feature is the security of the luggage itself: the zipper that runs around the entire case is a picture-resistant double racquet coil with YKK zippers, and its fitted with an integrated Travel Sentry Approved combination lock. The metal materials used look and feel good, and work as expected. Overall, I found the Lexicon Hardside collection by Victorinox to be one of the best I’ve ever used. The construction is strong and the design looks futuristic and sleek, while all the moving parts work very well. All in all, I don’t think you can go wrong with any of Victorinox’s luggage lines, and from my experience, as far as brand new styles go, the Lexicon Hardside is pretty sweet.

Wow, that case looks really stylish. I love the design very much. So minimalist, yet well so cool. I think you won't miss that kind of luggage on the stripe. But is it durable enough? I had a suitcase like this once and it become damaged after few flights. You know, the airport workers aren't gently with your luggage in most of times.
