Are You Scrambling Last Second? Gift Giving with Catalyst

The Christmas season can be a turbulent time, because the seasons are changing, work schedules ramp up, then relax for a week or so, then it’s back into the grind for another year. Tie in holiday shopping, family planning, in-laws, and feast preparations, it can be much more stressful than it need be, and more negative than positive, which is why so many people admit to being stressed out for the holidays.

Scrambling last second for gifts can be trying, but thankfully, if it wasn’t for the advent of the internet, the store crowds would be a whole lot worse. But even still, sometimes you simply want to give a gift that’s worthwhile, and if we all shop at the same local stores, unique gifts might be tough to come by. That’s another reason why shopping online is the way to go. When you consider how fast modern ordering and shipping moves, you can afford to wait until the last week to shop and still receive your gifts in time.

Big business sites like Amazon make it easy, but I like to search out the smaller, more local businesses and go direct through them. It’s my way of sort-of-‘shopping local,’ but what that does is boost the companies that care about their product and their employees, rather than boost the massive sales numbers of the big boys. This year, I decided to outfit my loved ones with things they need, like for those of whom have Apple products, like an iPhone, iPad, or Watch, which is why I thought it would be great to team up Catalyst for this feature.

Catalyst is a best-in-class outfitter of technology goods, specializing in waterproof wears for all sorts of new tech devices. They carry protective cases for just about every iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and several of the Galaxy phones. I’ve worked with Catalyst’s products for a couple of years now, outfitting my iPhone 7+ in their beautiful waterproof case, which fits snug, allowing for optimal ergonomic use, while providing my phone with drop-proof technology in a fully-functional case that is assisted by impact-resistant polycarbonate. Their phone cases are rated at a 33-foot depth with a 6.6-foot drop-proof rating, meaning that you can submerge your phone unto 10 meters or drop it from around 6 feet and you should have a functioning phone.

So why not give the gift of protection this year, because we all know how important our devices are to us now, and so without this extra security, you’re playing a game with fate everyday, and every time you pull out your phone. For people who are already ahead of the game here, I really liked the Waterproof 20L Backpack by Catalyst, which is a very lightweight, foldable, packable and portable pack that can fit into a bag about the size of an iPhone+. This backpack is designed to withstand 10,000mm (or 32-feet) of water and comes designed with all sorts of streamlined features, like that of the roll top closure, taped waterproof seams, breathable mesh shoulder straps, and deep side pockets… But the fact that it can fold down and rollup into such a small carrying pouch is why it’s on this list. We have a lot of adventure travelers out there who read Eye & Pen, and this ones for you guys!
