Bring the Party Vibe Anywhere

In life, I’ve learned, the most important things are relationships, communing and connecting to nature, and surrounding everyday in the little things that make you happy. And through my years on this planet, these are things I had to learn to value above all else, and much like most life lessons, you must come to the realization in your own way, on your own time.

So, when I say that there are a few things in life that are better than a gathering with good friends over drinks and some groovy music, I truly mean it. Because many of my fondest memories from when I was younger are from get togethers, house parties, bars and concert venues adventures. Most of my best memories feature an old crew of my favorite people who used to gather weekly. We would setup the vibe with dim lights and bright moving lights that accentuated the party atmosphere, and we would have music bumping, drinking and card games setup, as well as beer pong, and it was some of the best of times.

As career mode takes over most of us, the get togethers became less frequent and more sporadic, and now they happen fewer and further between, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still get the party atmosphere together for even small events. Once or twice a year, my best friends fly in and we often go camping, but not before we bring the team back together with a small party. We don’t go near as crazy as we did in our early twenties, but we still know how to have a good time… We setup a light, a speakers system, snacks, games, drinks; the whole shebang.

One of my favorite ways to bring the party is to set the mood with a versatile light and speaker combo like the iBT175 by iHome. The party version of the famous iHome speaker brings a versatile mix of lights and sound, allowing anyone to play DJ for the evening to via Bluetooth (or you can connect direct via an aux-in jack. For lighting, the iBT175 comes with a faceted disco light dome on top which pulses to the music, projecting 360° of lighting effects, moving from ceiling to all around the room; at a 15-foot range. The lights are indeed color changing, which looks beautiful in a dimly lit room, with many pulsating effects like glow or slow fade, fast, favorite color, pulse (to the music), and other pulsing modes.

As for sound quality, the iHome iBT175 is pretty beastly for its size, since considering how it provides 360° of sound that fills up a small-to-medium size space wonderfully. It has three passive subwoofers for enhanced bass, which if you’re like me, you know is a must have feature. The speaker has a built-in mic, so you can dictate commands and control the tunes through an app like Spotify or iHeartRadio. Estimated battery life is five hours, and can charge via AC-plug, USB or via internal rechargeable Lithium Ion battery, which gives you the ability to take the party anywhere. All in all, I found the iBT175 to be great for throwing last second parties, where quality audio and visual are a must! The lighting effects are a blast to play with an to enjoy, and the sound is pretty solid. Beside the awesome disco ball on top, I had a lot of fun with the pulsing lights feature.
