CBD: A Personal Testimony with CBDistillery

I’m no stranger to herbal medicines. I mean, really… It’s the original medicine, for goodness sake. But CBD is new. In the 70s and prior, scientists knew of Cannabidiol as a trace chemical found in the cannabis sativa plant, but they didn’t have high CBD strains of the plant that produced high potency of CBD with low amounts of the psychoactive compound THC. Breeders have found ways to improve the yield of CBD, while reducing the high sensation that became its claim to fame and fear, which we all know subjected this amazing plant to become one of the pillars in the United States’ infamous drug war.

Cannabidiol, or CBD for short, is becoming one of the most popular alternative (to pharmaceutical) medicines, mainly due to its gentle but effective nature. It has few side effects and contraindications, but some do exist, and it doesn’t effect the mind like its sister molecule Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). CBD has shown to have a positive effect for pain relief, inflammation and arthritis, insomnia, anxiety, depression, epilepsy, celiac disease, and much more. For more information on the benefits of CBD, click to read more.

CBD oil ingested sublingually is the most popular method of use, but you can also use it as a topical, edible, suppository, and it can be vaped as well. Depending on what your ailment is, either internal or external may be the best approach for you. For sore muscles, joint pain, back and neck pain, bone spurs and neuropathy, I like to use a CBD-infused salve. For all other ailments, like when I can’t sleep or when anxiety has me reeling with tension, I use the drops,w which are held under the tongue for 1-2 minutes then swallowed. Though, my favorite as of late are CBD-infused gummies, which essentially are medicinal gummy bears.

I recently had the opportunity to test CBDistillery’s Extra Strength 5000mg CBD Tincture and their CBD Nighttime Gummies, and after a couple of months using them, I have to say I’m astounded at the results. I took the oil daily, starting with 10mg and working my way up to 25mg a day for really bad days, where I felt like crap. When in a lot of pain, I took two doses, one at morning and one at night. The gummies, however, were strictly for bedtime due to the quantity of CBD (30mg) and melatonin (1.5mg). I would eat one gummy, then about 30-minutes later I was ready for some serious sleep. The gummies aided me in my ability to receive a full night sleep and to keep me functioning at a high level while working 12-15 hours a day.

CBDistillery sells high quality CBD oils derived from non-GMO industrial hemp. Their extractions are full spectrum with 0% THC, and that’s what you want. “Full spectrum” is the term you want to see on a label, as it means the oil has all of the other compounds found in the plant, which in turn offers a much more medicinal effect. Isolates are where CBD has been stripped down to its lone molecule, but there is an entourage effect that lends itself more to its medicinal capabilities. But if even a trace mineral quantity of THC scares you, then isolates become your only option. I found the quality to be top notch, as my oil was full spectrum and the gummies have CBD isolate in them. The isolate was strong enough to aid my bouts of insomnia, but it was the full spectrum that helped me most with pain and anxiety.

But don’t let me sell you on them. Do your own research and try it out if you’re curious what CBD can do for you. Otherwise, speaking with a medical professional or your family doctor might be the best next move if you’re interested but concerned.
