The world is changing, and I, for one, am stoked to see where it goes. While some of the more negative forces in our world are trying their damnedest to maintain their grip of influence and culture, many voices are screaming into the abyss to be heard, and we’re starting to see the wheels begin to turn. I lived in Colorado a year or two after legalization and I witnessed a heartwarming change in culture. Where criminal drug arrests and DUIs were once much more frequent, peace had began to form and improvements began to take shape in schools and with infrastructure, all because of the taxes generated.

No longer are we destroying the lives of medicinal cannabis users; no longer is the US asleep while corrupt interests manipulate the truth. With the invention of the internet, the truth has come out about cannabis, about its medical properties, about its low risk consumption, and about what the drug war was really intended for. With new minds comes new visions, and the new vision for the country is beginning to take shape, in not only the drug war but in all areas of civic rights and imbalances. We’re seeing new minds respond to violence differently, to racial rights, women’s rights, and gender rights, to financial inequality as well, and that started with the shift of cannabis, because with the first legalization came the first proof that new minds are stemming the flow and changing the direction of our world.

But until change reaches other areas of the country, and the world, we will continue to see unnecessary brutality happening to those who realized the truth about the most powerful and healing plant in the world. Even in Colorado you mustn’t smoke in public, so no matter where you are, discretion is important* – *This is not advice to ignore your local laws, only an observation. There are all sorts of methods one might use, like using a vaporizer or edible, but if you prefer smoking, I would suggest employing the SilverStick, which is a dugout like no other.

Dugouts are traditionally small wooden boxes that have two compartments, one for your herb of choice and one for a small one-hitter pipe, but the folks over at SilverStick have evolved it. The SiverStick Leather Dugout is a classy approach to discretionary smoking, and can be used for a variety of herbs, like tobacco or cannabis, to name two. The SilverStick complete comes with a slick metal lighter, silver metal one-hitter pipe, a plastic tube for your smoking material, poker and a spot for filters in a real nice leather pocket. Each one is made in the US, from a fine high-quality leather that smells as good as it looks.

SilverStick’s Leather Dugout is a portable, versatile, discrete option for the smoker on the go. You simply fill the plastic tube with your favorite smokable, then press the end of the dugout into the tube and then light the end. The little cotton filters fit inside the metal pipe, which is a really nice feature, considering most traditional one-hitters will sometimes fill your mouth full of ash or embers, which is no fun. Inside the leather pocket are etched icons that map out how each piece is stored, which is a nice feature, especially when you’re first getting started. All in all, I found that the SilverStick is a brilliant and attractive option for a myriad of lifestyles, because it is so stylish yet unassuming.
