There is a beauty in the natural world that comes through every sense we possess, and since we are creatures evolved from the earth, it can surprise pretty much anyone just how powerful and healing* plants, flowers, herbs, trees and roots can be to the human body and mind. Today, I thought it important to talk about what essential oils are and how they can improve your life, as they have mine. Essential oils are concentrated, distilled oils that come from plants, flowers, herbs, trees, roots and other organic living materials, which when inhaled via aromatherapy, or used topically, can heal*, soothe ailments and can assist in a myriad of issues. They can be used in a variety of ways, from aromatherapy to oil blends, as well as salves and other botanical applications. For me, personally, I love to blend high quality oils into beard oils, muscle relief salves and hair tonics as well.

Almost all of the hair care, body washes, and other body care products come loaded with additives and chemicals that fill our bodies with toxins, and have a greater negative effect with prolonged use, which is why there’s been such an upsurge in organic and natural products on the market. With the popularity of essential oils, anyone can make their own at home, too, which I find to be especially exciting. Not only can you create a pure, organic concoction that does what you need and more, you can blend the natural properties of essential oils with carrier oils, butters and waxes so that you’re receiving a specialized and focused treatment for hundreds applications.

Aromatherapy is as different an approach as any, because it works with a single sense, yet can have a tremendous effect on mood and sinus health if used correctly. I recently teamed up with Organic Aromas, who specialize in aromatherapy diffusers, essential oils and blended oils that are focused toward a specific effect like enhancing meditation, energy levels and positivity of mood. They sent their Radiance Nebulizing Diffuser, which is a small glass and wood device that uses no heat to activate the essential oils, yet turns them into vapor which then can be breathed in for optimum effect or simply used like a candle to improve the smell of your home. Unlike most diffusers, Organic Aromas’ do not require water.

The Radiance is a pretty cool design, simple and small, yet eye-catching and very effective in its ability. What makes it even better is that it’s stylish like an art piece, yet functional like a high tech device. It features rainbow LED mood lighting by way of a simple touch, nebulizing aromatherapy that uses no heat or water which helps maintain its holistic and therapeutic effect, and it acts as a wonderful and aesthetic decor piece as well.

Along with the diffuser, Organic Aromas sent over their lovely Master Aromatherapist Kit, which includes 12 essential oils that pack a heck of a versatile punch. Included in this collection is Lavender, Purity Blend, Peppermint, Organic Sweet Orange, Energy Blend, Organic Rosemary, Grapefruit, Serenity Blend, Rose Geranium, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus and Organic Tea Tree. The kit comes in a handsome hardwood box with brass lock fitting, making it a nice inclusive gift set with a variety of applications and delectable scents that have been derived directly from plants, flowers and herbs. All of their oils are pure and certified organic, and since there are many to choose from, the kit makes it easy to mix and match depending on mood and desired effect.

You can use these fragrant aromas to increase vitality, stimulate the immune system and naturally cure* ailments as well as boost and encourage a wide variety of natural human processes. All in all, I found the diffuser to work great and to look even better. The Master Aromatherapist Kit was a lot of fun to test and to change throughout each refill depending on what I am feeling each day. My favorite mix was with sweet orange and lavender, which helped create a beautiful scent that gave me energy, while also easing my anxiety, which improved my mood overall.
