Football Tailgating Is In Full Force: featuring GCI Outdoor’s Folding PICO Arm Chair

The football craze is real in the United States, as many regions around the country eat, breathe, and sleep college football, and while the professional teams of the NFL garner plenty of excitement, the craziest fans are college football fans. Blame it on local pride or Alumni status, the truth is that what makes Americans go wild is the dynamics of student athletes competing and striving their hardest to make a play. In the NFL, it’s widely commented that the athlete’s don’t play with the same fire and inspiration, since they’re paid millions of dollars to be there, something changes in them, but in college athletics, it’s that underdog story that lights the fire of fandom all across the 50 states.

Tailgating is among my favorite past times, as there’s few feelings better than gathering with your favorite people, family and friends, and join in rooting on your favorite team. Add in a pool in the summer, a grill in autumn and winter, and you’ve got a recipe for a damn good time. My family has made quite a tradition our of football Saturdays, by gathering in a horde at grandma’s, with plenty of food, drinks and deserts. We call every Saturday during football season a holiday, and we eat like it, every week, and we root along our Ohio State Buckeyes with extreme fervor, often cursing the refs, chanting the team songs and traditions, while riding the emotional rollercoaster that comes with college sports.

Many people gather around their team’s stadium, surrounded by other fanatics dressed in their team’s best jerseys, to join in singing their fight songs and anthems, while enjoying in camaraderie and games, and grilled foods, and drink, and it can be an amazing, energy-pumping time. These tailgaters bring the full regalia, by dressing up their vehicles, bringing their oversized campers, and setting up a party scene like little else, and when you have a friend who takes care of the expense and the setup, all you need is to bring a pack of beer, some meat to share, and a chair to sit on. Might I suggest the PICO Arm Chair by GCI Outdoors?

The PICO is my goto chair as of this season, because the design of this chair lends itself to the popup party lifestyle, as it folds down to 1/16th of its size and is transformed into a messenger-style like bag with padded shoulder strap. How cool is that?! The PICO has a patented telescoping system that allows it to break down easily and be carried at a fraction of the size. This outdoor director’s style chair comes with features like the chair back storage caddy, which is ideal for storing magazines, beverages, or sunglasses, etc.

The PICO Arm Chair by GCI Outdoor is made to be lightweight, yet sturdy, as it’s made of anodized aluminum and a powder-coated steal frame, making it a fantastic option for campers, RV’ers, fishing trip and of course, watching sports with your buddies. Additionally, the fabric of the chair is a breathable nylon mesh and polyester fabric, while the feet are made of a scratch-free nylon-coating. The PICO is rated to handle up to 250 lbs., and opens up to a size of 20.9”x21.7”x33.9” and folds to only 19.7”x3.9”x12.4”, and weighs a mere 9.7 lbs. Overall, I found the PICO Arm Chair to be the perfect chair for most outdoor ventures, as it opens and closes down with ease, is lightweight, and easy to find space for on most adventure trips. I think it’s the perfect companion for tailgating, camping, exploring, and simply basking in the beauty and splendor that is the natural world.
