When traveling the world, anything can happen to you. Believe me, I should know. I’ve been through a brutal respiratory infection in Spain, something worse than the flu in Ireland, I’ve been robbed a couple of times, I’ve been lost, I’ve been stranded, and I’ve been scared. Yet, I’ve found beauty in the world like I never knew existed prior, from the vibrant and versatile cultures to the most phantasmagorical scenery in the natural world. So no matter what negatives may befall you, you must keep on keepin’ on, and never let the possibilities of what might happen stop you… because without travel and curiosity for new experiences, what is life but a stagnant nothingness on repeat?

For me, travel is the education I never received in the USA’s public system, because from how I was before I began traveling, to now, I am a completely different person. Spending time in country outside my own and around people that don’t speak my language, who see the world differently, has taught me a lifetime of precious information. From gaining the ability to strategically think, to reason, to search for the deeper truth in all things, to having a worldly view, travel has taught me so much that I firmly believe it’s saved my life. So when I travel now, I prepare much differently than I used to. When I first started, I overstuffed my pack with nonessentials and ended up sending gear home, and now, I have a greater understanding of necessities, and while each trip requires a different approach, one thing always comes with me. And that is the Grab N’ Go Essential Oils Kit from Butterfly Express. Not what you were expecting? Let me explain.

In the present day medical care world, there’s corporate medicines and natural/alternative medicines, and while there are some ailments and diseases that require mainstream medications, the natural approach offers a wide range of cures* for a myriad of discomforts and illnesses. While I trust the doctor’s advice when whatever I’m going through is serious enough, I will almost always attempt an alternative approach first. The reason is because I’ve come to truly understand our connection to the natural animate world and have experienced the power that can be harnessed from it, and I also have seen the negative side of the medical world, from creating addiction to the side effects being worse than the original condition, and other personal life experiences. So for most discomforts, I rely on natural medicine first, because most of the time I find results.

The Grab N’ Go Essential Oils Kit is as it sounds, an inclusive collection of essential oils that can assist with just about anything that can arise. From pain relief to colds, cuts, burns, depression, insect bites, headaches, moodiness, and beyond, essential oils have the power to replace many medications; at least that’s what I found in my everyday life. Essential oils are natural oils that are obtained by distillation or by press, which essentially means that they are pure oils from an assortment of healing and therapeutic plants and flowers; like lavender, chamomile, orange, peppermint, hemp, and the list goes on. They can be applied to the skin by way of a carrier oil (coconut oil, almond, castor, jojoba, etc.) or made into a variety of botanicals, like healing salves, tinctures, hair and skin oils. Each oil extract carries with it the scent of the plant or flower, as well as other powerful characteristics. For example, for peppermint, you can apply to your skin during a massage for a calming effect that relieves sore muscles, and it’s antimicrobial, and it can relieve stomach pain, ease digestive issues, suppress headaches, increase energy and bring metal focus and clarity, among other benefits. It’s amazing, really.

Butterfly Express specializes in a huge selection of essential oils, carrier oils, personal products, diffusers for aromatherapy, jewelry, minerals, salves, supplements, tinctures and so much more. They also have a variety of kits for all sorts of occasions and interests. When I travel, I carry with me the Grab N’ Go kit, because it brings together everything you need to take care of most issues that might arise. If I would have had this kit with me when I was in Europe, I could have avoided a lot of downtime that could have been better spent exploring.

Included in the Grab N’ Go kit are a line of their blended essential oils, which bring together several different oils for an overall therapeutic effect. For example, the Baby Me blend brings a sense of calmness, competence, and can be used to retard wrinkles and enhance skin health, while also removing scaly patches, among other uses; and consists of Bergamot, Chamomile Roman, Palmarosa, Rose, Rose Geranium, Rosewood, Ylang Ylang. The scent is a sort of wood, rose and tang mixture, which I found soothing when used in a diffuser. Another example of a powerful and versatile essential oil is that of their EndoRelief blend, which has Cumin, Cypress, Coriander, Dill, Geranium, Myrtle, Nutmeg, Oregano Wild, Petitgrain, and Sage in it. You might be thinking, ‘Wow, that’s a wild mix,’ and you’d be right. While the EndoRelief may not be the most beautiful fragrance, but the effects work; after feeling a cold come on, I applied a few drops to a vapor diffuser and the next day my symptoms were gone, noticing an improvement after an hour or two.

There are blends for nerves, for spiritual connection, for infections and sore throats, and high blood pressure, and I’m just scraping the surface. Each is an intoxicating smell, some have a soothing or uplifting effect with a single sniff. For travel, I found these blends to be among my favorites, because of their effectiveness and scent: Breezy (for respiratory, immune stimulant, confidence), Deeper (for nerves, arthritis, sprains, bruises, pain relief), Deliverance (air purifier, sore throat, dental issues, infections, warts, immune support), Heart Song (anti-depressant, stress relief), InsideOut (digestion, heartburn, imbalanced bowels, and is used as a treatment for parasites in animals), MelaPlus (bug bites, antibacterial), Tranquility (inner strength, stress, tension and panic attacks, ADHD), Helichrysum (rejuvenates skin, for damaged tissue, bruises, and scarring, anti-inflammatory), Peppermint and Lavender my all-time favorite natural scent (calming, for headaches, mental fatigue, and is good on nearly all skin conditions). I could go on, because crammed in each and every tiny bottle is a medicinal punch. For a full breakdown on each essential oil included in the Grab N’ Go Essential Oil Kit, click here.

Isn't EndoRelief for endometriosis? I guess it's nice that it also cures colds, but would love a review from someone with a uterus.
