Lighting up your campsite with the Luminoodle

Camp lighting has traditionally been limited to campfires, lanterns, headlamps and flashlights, but the creative folks over at Power Practical have come up with a new and exciting idea to both light up your camp while adding some pizazz. Power Practical created the very cool Luminoodle, which essentially is a worm with LED lights strewn through it that is battery powered and capable of lighting up your camp as well as providing a groovy feel to the place you will call home for a short time.

The Luminoodle is a unique idea, because it is small and streamlined for travelers, campers and backpackers alike and is powered completely by its own rechargeable lithium battery. The Plus edition of the Luminoodle comes with the Lithium 4400 battery which features its own lantern feature, and has the capability of charging other devices like phones and tablets while powering the white lighting strip. The Plus edition is a 5-foot light rope that puts out 180 lumens and weighs only 3.7oz. But Power Practical wasn’t finished after that, because they decided white wasn’t enough. They released the Luminoodle Color Plus, which is the one that excites me the most.

The Color Plus edition is an all-in-one lighting and charging kit that comes with a smaller battery pack, remote, and can alternate with 14 different color options, including strobe and fade options. So if you want to host a get together in the woods, this is the best way to light up the party. The Color Plus weighs 4.7oz, yet puts out a much higher brightness, at 450 lumens. The remote that pairs with the Color Plus controls the color, brightness, and speed of the color changes.

Both the Luminoodle Plus and Color Plus wind up along a thin spindle wheel that fits with the battery in its very own carrying sack. If used correctly, the small sack can duo as a lantern once you turn on the light inside.

I found the Luminoodle to be a great product, and something that will come with me on every camping trip I take. They are both very cool, and easy to use, with a lot of features and multiple uses that I think is perfect for my camping and lifestyle. The way they pack up tight and small is ideal for backpacker and any explorer of Nature. Beyond that, the ability to have battery powered strings of light, let alone the kind that dance and change color, is one of the many perks that modern technology has come up with to allow us the ability to camp and travel in luxury. It’s awesome to be able to simply hang the Luminoodle rope and completely alter the mood and feel of my campsite. Major props to Power Practical.
