There are many places around the world that are unique and interesting and should be on anybody’s bucket list. But there are those areas in the world where such places are crammed together and easily accessible from one central location. Such is the case with Singapore and South East Asia and even Asia in general.
Moving to Singapore could really have a lot of benefits, but one of the major ones is the fact that you would be able to travel the whole region taking in a whole lot of different cultures in a short period of time. That’s why I really believe making Singapore your base for a while can be a great adventure and a great opportunity to get to know an amazing corner of the world.

Travel is easy and efficient
Singapore has one of the busiest airports in Asia and everything about it great and reliable. Very often we associate busy airports with too many people, delays and problems. For instance, London’s Heathrow is one of the busiest airports in Europe and it’s also one of the messiest especially when it comes to luggage. Its reputation in that department is deservedly abysmal which might lead many to believe that busy airports are difficult to manage well.

Singapore’s Changi international airport disproves this stereotype and demonstrates that attention to detail, good infrastructure and smart technology can solve all kinds of challenges. The airport is extremely efficient and the city infrastructure makes it easy for passengers to get to and from the airport. Boarding and arriving is also very quick and efficient and the airport is considered by many to be a marvel of modern engineering. This has made Singapore a travel hub and if you are living there, it would be very easy to visit the countries that are nearby due to the great infrastructure and regular flights at affordable prices and traveling through Changi will always be a pleasure.

Places to visit
As Singapore is located in the center of South East Asia, its location makes a lot of interesting destinations easy to travel to. There is a list of great destinations to visit while living in Singapore:

Malaysia
Malaysia is the closest country to Singapore and it’s the only country you can visit by land as its Singapore’s only land neighbor. It’s a country with unique culture, amazing nature, great food and many beaches perfect for a vacation.

Indonesia
Another island nation with a lot to offer to tourists that is located nearby is Indonesia. It’s easy to get there from Singapore and visiting is a must. It has some unique sights like The Borobudur Temple, exquisite beaches, spicy food and unique nature.

Other Places
Besides that you can easily visit the Philippines, Thailand, India and even Australia, China and Japan. All of those have their unique cultures and living in Singapore means you could experience all of them in the matter of months.

Things to do while in Singapore
The whole region might be full of culture and interesting places to visit, but so is the city nation of Singapore itself. It might be small, but it has a lot to offer. First of all, Singapore is extremely welcoming and multicultural which makes living there great. The city offers great infrastructure, there are amazing beaches and breathtaking nature and the food and culture are unique.
Another thing you can do while living in Singapore is use part of your time to learn. The level of education in Singapore is outstanding so it’s easy to find a tutor who could teach you anything you might be interested in English and I’m not just talking about the obvious languages like Chinese or Tamil – you could easily find science tuition to learn more about math, physics, biology, chemistry, history, geography and many more. Don’t just expand your horizons culturally, you can use your time in Singapore to expand your knowledge as well.

Conclusion
Singapore is really a great place to move to because it offers really a lot. The culture is both interesting and welcoming, it is absolutely beautiful and it offers all kinds of travel opportunities to discover the whole region.
