For visitors to North America, Niagara Falls is among the most popular stops, and is up there with the renowned likes of the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone for a lot of outsiders. Niagara Falls is a natural wonder, consisting of three waterfalls that form at the Canadian-USA border in New York, where the Niagara River flows from Lake Erie into Lake Ontario. It’s a monumental sight that has unfortunately turned into quite a tourist trap, where on the Canadian side has been built up into a city surrounding the falls, though the USA side has been left a bit more undeveloped and is home of a lovely park and is home of the Cave of the Winds.

Long known as a honeymooners destination, Niagara Falls has become more of a family destination, with endless attractions, restaurants, rides, and parks to explore. It’s best to stay for a long three-day weekend, so that you can experience all that Niagara Falls has to offer; from the three waterfalls, Niagara Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and the American Falls, to the Observation Tower, Adventure Theater attraction, and the Maid of the Mist boat tour as well.

At night, fireworks are set off over the falls, which can be a magical experience. And when you’re looking for a bit of respite, a cold drink and a nice meal, there are plenty of options on the American side. One that won’t break the budget is the Hard Rock Cafe Niagara Falls USA, which is one block from the main park entrance.

The Hard Rock Cafe in Niagara Falls offers a full bar and restaurant, with occasional live entertainment, a memorabilia museum and gift shop. While the food is above average, it is the decor of the Hard Rock Cafe that is the biggest draw, because even if you can’t make your way south to Cleveland’s famous Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, you can experience the museum feel as every wall is covered in rare memorabilia from some of the hottest of rock legends and musical icons. From instruments and gold albums to clothing and unique pieces from all of the most well-known musical legends, the Hard Rock Cafe has you covered. When I visited, they had a special Jimi Hendrix section with one of his guitars, shirt and cap; which can be seen below.

Leah had the Twisted Mac, Chicken and Cheese (left), and I had the Original Legendary Burger, which is a juicy half-pound Certified Angus Beef® burger topped with smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, golden fried onion ring, crisp lettuce and vine-ripened tomato, and it was one of the best burgers I’ve had all year. For a drink, I opted for their Berry Smoothie, which was topped with fruit, and was delectable and quenching after a 90+ degree day in late June. All in all, I found the Hard Rock Cafe to be a pleasant stop in between tours and exploration of Niagara Falls, and was surprised by the food quality and by their memorabilia collection. Big fan!
