Review: Dr. Dabber’s Boost Vaporizer

Cannabis has the world reeling with possibilities. Some folks hate it, usually due to misconceptions and lack of information, or the simple act of honoring propaganda that had once put one of the world’s most healing plants in the same category as life-ruining narcotics. But the truth is that cannabis, or marijuana, is indeed packed full of healing properties for a versatile style of applications. Say you or someone you know suffers from epilepsy or seizures, a certain cannabinoid or molecule within cannabis can treat and reduce the harmful symptoms, ultimately allowing them to lead normal, healthy lives.

Picture
Within cannabis, the most well known cannabinoid is THC, or Tetrahydrocannabinol, which is the molecule that makes you feel high, because it’s the psychotropic part of the plant; only found in flowering mother plants. The second most common is CBD, or Cannabidiol, is the more healing portion of the plant, which can be found in hemp (male) stalks, flowers and other parts of the plant, which has a myriad of healing benefits*. Such as: antipsychotic effects, pain and inflammation relief, reducer of anxiety, nausea, and treats seizures and other neurological disorders, while also proving capable of fighting cancer.

While there are other cannabinoids that are lesser known, that show up in drastically smaller amounts, THC and CBD can be applied a number of ways. From smoking to vaping, and topical applications, as well as edibles, to name a few of the most popular ways, there are so many ways to treat yourself, depending on what your ailment is. For those with anxiety, CBD may be the best choice. For those who suffer with eating, or sleeping, both can help with appetite and sleep regularity. Either way, both CBD and THC can be made into a concentrate like wax, shatter, dab or isolate, which then can be vaporized and inhaled.

Vaporizing has shown to be a healthier option to smoking the plant matter, but for me, it’s typically preference. In most cases, I tend to bounce back and forth between smoke and vaping, depending how bad I feel and how much time I have with my busy work schedule. When vaping CBD crystals or wax, you won’t receive that head high, but you will notice a calming sensation, so if you’re an anxiety-prone person, like myself, then you may greatly benefit from using cannabis in this way. Again, it won’t get you high. And while THC consumption is regulated differently depending on the state and medicinal licensure status of the user, CBD is legal in all 50 U.S. states.

One of my newly favorite vaporizing devices is the Boost vaporizer by Dr. Dabber, who specializes in all sorts of cool devices for medical and recreational cannabis use. The Boost is their affordable, portable vaporizer that comes in a classy wood box, with the base eRig, glass water attachment, 3 nails (titanium, ceramic, quartz), carb cap, loading tool, and two silicon containers, USB charging cable and keychain. Their packaging reminded me of Apple, how precise, neat and classy it is. What better way to present your product than to be as proud of the presentation as you are of the product. Mad props.

The Boost: Black Edition is Dr. Dabber’s limited edition Boost, which boasts larger nails, luxury packaging and a modular heating element, all of which is unique to this version. Most dab rigs are not battery-powered, so that is one of the first unique characteristics of the Boost, but for me, I thought the overall build was what impressed me most, because they made it so easy to use. Traditionally, dabbing has been an underground art that gained a bad name because of certain extraction processes that some people had used (which have thankfully been improved upon now-a-days), and because of how strong the THC concentrate can be.

The Boost employs a titanium homeless nail, which can be heated within the unit, so no torch is required, which I think seriously improves the safety and perception of dabbing, or vaping concentrates. It’s so easy that to heat the device up to the optimal temperature, all you have to do is to press one button. The battery is capable of providing 20-30 sessions on a single charge. Overall, I found the Boost to be an exceptional vaporizer, with a lot of power and perks, ergonomic ease of use, and accessories that make it one of the most versatile vaporizers on the market.
