Essential oils are perhaps the most powerful concentrated natural substances on earth, which are capable of nearly countless applications for healing*, pain, and curing of disease. These oils are derived from plants, flowers, herbs, trees, and roots from all around the world, and are great for boosting one’s immune, while also helping relieve pain, heal cuts and burns, relieve headaches, boost mood and cure depression, as well as help with prevention and treatment of insect bites, and beyond. They can be used in an aromatherapy diffuser, or can be used in a myriad of applications like in healing salves and balms, hair tonic and beard oils, cleaners, tinctures, and they can be used in hot baths, among other uses. They have a tremendous amount of healthy applications, and best yet, there are few side effects (which typically are particular to each person), and they’re natural!

While there are hundreds of oils to choose from, each with their own aroma and use, there are several basics that most people stick with, especially for beginners. I recently reached out to Rocky Mountain Oils to assist me in this article, and they sent their Mom’s Essential Kit which comprises of ten of the most popular, yet powerful essential oils that tend to be useful for most basic ailments. The kit includes Lemon, Myrtle, Purify (which is a blend of Lemongrass, Tea Tree, Rosemary, Lavender, Myrtle, and Citronella), Peppermint, Immune Strength (which is a blend of Clove Bud, Cinnamon Bark, Lemon, Orange, Oregano, Mandarin, Thyme, Rosemary, Nutmeg, Ginger Root, and Eucalyptus citriodora), Lavender Bulgaria, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus citriodora, Grapefruit, and Helichrysum gymnocephalum.

Each oil has their own specialties, but many of them can be blended in aromatherapy or in salves to create a harmonious effect that helps to treat a focused problem. For example, if you notice that you’re suffering from depression, I might suggest an aromatherapy blend of Lemon, Peppermint, Lavender, and Grapefruit; by keeping this blend more citrus based, you are effectively employing the energizing and mood boosting effects of these oils. For when I’m feeling sickly, I like to setup a diffuser with the Immune Strength blend, with an additional dose of Eucalyptus (for stuffy nose), as well as Tea Tree (for cough), Lemon (for energy/to fight fatigue), Lavender (for congestion and for calming anxiety), Lemongrass (to lift the brain fog), Peppermint and/or Grapefruit (for nausea). There’s all sorts of uses; and they smell absolutely amazing!

After working with RMO’s Mom’s Essential Kit for a little over a month, I found that it’s the perfect starter pack for anyone interested in essential oils, and since it comes in a padded carrying case, you can take it anywhere with you, so that you can heal yourself and others on the go. Or as the name suggests, if you’re a mom, this kit may be the perfect kit to take with you wherever your kids go, because it offers such a well-rounded range of benefits. All of RMO’s essential oils are 100% pure, very intoxicating, and have powerful properties that I found work well for my daily aches, pains, and issues like middle of the night insomnia, back pain, morning mood boost, and for when I need my immune at its strongest. I think this kit is absolutely perfect for traveling, because when I am on the road it can be difficult to find what I need in the moment. And so by adding this kit to my packing list, along side my first aid kit, I am giving myself the ability to provide immediate optimum care for anything that may befall me. If only I had this kit with me when I backpacked in Spain, when a nasty sinus infection took hold of me and kept me hindered from exploring for the better part of three weeks. All in all, I found that Rocky Mountain Oils’ Mom’s Essential Oil Kit is a must have for just about anyone and any lifestyle.
