Review: Plus Pro Charger 20,000mAh by Crave

I remember the days when once your phone was dead, that was that, and there wasn’t anything you could do about it, unless you were in a place for a time with charging wire in hand. Not only were the phone batteries sparse and small in capacity, but they seemed to burn energy faster than I could replenish it, but perhaps that was simply me, being a fast-paced, mind-racing worker bee who asked a lot out of his devices.

As a tech traveler, I travel the globe and work on a laptop and live out of my backpack. So, it’s damn near impossible for me to stop and charge all my devices while being constantly on the go. I remember sitting on the floor of a coffee shop waiting… forever, while my devices charged. It’s a bloody awful time when you know you could be exploring beautiful places, old towns, and relics of the past, among having all sorts of culturally significant experiences.

Modern technological advances of late have revolutionized how we store power and how we do it. Now, there’s tiny batteries with huge capacities. And the price levels are dropping seemingly everyday. It’s amazing how lithium batteries have changed everything. Where I had to plan my day and work around my energy consumption, I now can roam freely, and charge once overnight while I sleep instead of stopping throughout the day so I could reup my laptop or phone, or camera batteries. Now, I can do everything from a single power bank.

I recently reached out to Crave to feature their Crave Power Bank Plus PRO 20,000mAh quick charge battery pack and they sent one out for me to test. Size is always important as a backpacker, as is every ounce in weight, because I must shoulder everything I wish to take with me, including my clothes, toiletries, laptop, hard drives, camera, lenses, memory cards and accessories, as well as my survival gear, tent, and on and on it goes. So light weight and small is king as far as being a backpacker is concerned.

Crave’s power bank offers type-C output which can charge tablets, speakers and laptops, and this model comes equipped with two 3.0 quick charge USB ports. Being 20,000mAh, this power bank can charge an iPhone roughly 6-10 times before needing recharged. All in all, I tested the speed of the power bank and its capacity and was blown away by how nice and sleek the design was compared with how dynamic its ability to power all of my devices while I’m on the go. Overall, I’m pleasantly surprised by its effectiveness and speed of charge.
