Review: The Vibe backpack by Gruv Gear

These days, a backpack is a statement of someone’s fashion and ideals, and thoughts on culture, politics, and music preference. People don’t use patches like they used to, instead they accessorize and/or choose styles that fit them and define them. And a backpack can become that symbol. If someone like hardcore rock music, you can often tell right away, and the same goes for athletes and musicians, and beyond

For me, the perfect backpack is more about comfort and ability to organize and hold as much as possible. But I’d be lying if I said the thought didn’t cross my mind… Of course, I consider my style and the statement as I choose anything, especially the right pack. Perhaps it’s solely a part of individualism, or part of modern sales and marketing conditioning, but if something doesn’t fit me, I don’t like it and I won’t carry it with me. But if I find the right thing, the right style and fit, with the right features, then it may be difficult to separate me from it; whatever the thing might be: luggage, shoes, clothes, etc.

The fine folks over at Gruv Gear knew that when they wanted to create their latest product, the Vibe backpack. They wanted to make something that is both stylish in its most simplest form and customizable so their customers could choose their own style and color. The Vibe backpack has the option of a customizable inner lining with matching zipper ties, so you can personalize your pack. The inner lining is padded and has a large pocket that the main compartment of the backpack does not. Additionally, the inner lining connects with velcro and zippers, so it fits seamlessly inside the main compartment of the bag. And the matching zipper ties are bright and big, which complete the bag’s overall aesthetics.

The Vibe backpack is a stylish, modern style pack, which is built for comfort. Thick pads line the back, allowing for a comfortable fit, as well as a way to cool yourself if you’re out during a hot day. The straps are thinner and less padded, but fit comfortably. There are two small pockets on the sides of the Vibe, and two main areas inside, so you can’t fit a ton of stuff, but you can carry your necessities in a safe and padded environment. I think it’s perfect for light school use (not university, considering some of the books are as big as this bag), non-professional photographers, musicians, and designers/anyone who works off a laptop, as the inner lining will provide a laptop or camera gear with a lot of protection. The Vibe backpack has a cool look and feel, and with its customizable options, it opens itself up to a large market – I see the Vibe fitting in well with 15-25 year olds.
