Review: Wohven’s Monthly Shirt & Sock Subscription

Subscription services have become a popular style of commerce since online shopping has taken off, and now there’s even meat of the month, beer clubs, record of the month subscriptions and the list goes on. I’ve worked with a few of these services and there is something fun that comes with a mystery package that comes every month. You look forward to it every month and when the package comes, you rip it open before anything else in your mail.

Wohven has accomplished the status as one of the leading monthly subscription t-shirt services, because they specialize in dynamic, minimalist shirt designs that are unique each month, and are typically designed with nature and trees, or elements like water and fire, and animals like buffalo or something as simple as a feather. Each month a different artist showcases their work through Wohven’s many services, where they also offer creative boxers and socks, too.

Wohven offers its customers a choice between blank and graphic crew neck shirts as well as v-necks and long sleeve graphic tees, and they have an option for monthly boxer briefs and socks. Their packages run between $9 and $18 a month with $2 shipping, at the time of this article, which actually is pretty decent, considering their graphic tees run $13, when most stores charge $20-30+. The shirt quality is nice, a bit thin, but is very soft and comfortable, which is what I look for precisely. They are made of a soft blend of combed, ring-spun cotton and polyester, and they come pre-shrunk, true to size.

I recently had a chance to try out Wohven’s monthly shirt and sock service and I came away impressed overall. The designs are sharp, simple, yet effective like an eye-catching brand logo. The shirts feel very nice, and soft, the fit is spot on, while my thoughts on the overall quality of the shirts themselves is positive. They are a bit on the thin side, but I like that sort of shirt, soft and comfy with a design that doesn’t turn me into a walking marketing piece for some brand, but rather help to define whatever style I feel fits me in that moment in time. I particularly like Wohven’s September 2018 design with the flame, because it’s a sharp design that represents the one thing that changed the trajectory of our evolution to where we are today. But most people probably don’t think about that, but I do, and to me it adds extra meaning.

I also had the opportunity to try out two pairs of their socks, which are made of 20% cotton, 60% polyester, 17% nylon, and 2% spandex. They have a nice soft and inviting feel, and are made of a versatile fabric blend that works perfectly as a sock, as they shape to fit well, holding in place, while feeling quite pleasant. Overall, I like Wohven’s products and their designs, and think you might too. If you would like more information on Wohven, click here.
