Reviewing Brandless: an Online Grocery Shopping Experience

With the truth about what’s in our food and the benefits of organic over processed food coming out, new minds are behind some of the most exciting new shifts in retail, food, and online shopping. While Amazon has taken control of Whole Foods, the grocery that may have started the craze nationwide, increasingly local groceries are seeking out healthier, more local options for their vegetables, fruits, and meats like never before. But not all grocers handle these foods equally, as some charge exorbitant rates or are simply tied by the economic demands of the region; however, there are new options for folks that live in areas where fresh foods have become a rarity.

Brandless is an online shopping website that specializes in simpler foods, household goods, beauty and personal care products, as well as health, home and office products. All of their products are typically made simpler than what the big box giants offer in their stores, and it’s all priced at $3.00. No joke here; I will repeat: everything is priced at $3.00 each. AND they deliver it directly to your door; with free shipping offered currently for orders above $39.00. That’s pretty cool.

So, curious about this new innovative take on grocery shopping, I reached out to Brandies to try out some of their products, so that I could report back to you here today… They sent me a mix of products: Maple Syrup, Strawberry Fruit Spread, New Home Starter Kit, Lilac Dish Soap, Lemon Verbena Moisturizing Hand Soap, Green Tea & Aloe Body Wash, Omega 3 Fish Oil 1000mg, Calm & Focus Support, as well as their Kitchen Tools & Gadgets Kit.

Everything arrived safe and in Brandless branded shopping bags. My immediately thought was how cool this service was, because not only is it super easy to order online, the products come quickly, safely, and are very affordable, especially considering that most of their items are made well. The foods are typically non-GMO and organic, while the cleaning supplies are non-toxic and simply made.

The maple syrup was delicious, arriving in a sizable glass container, which I found to be a great value, considering how expensive real maple syrup is these days. Their soaps and home cleaning products were enjoyable to work with, with each of their personal care soaps and body washes exceedingly my expectations with how well they worked, how clean they made me and how lovely they smelled. Specifically, the Lilac soap and Lemon Verbena hand soap were among my favorites.

To keep my brain and body healthy, I regularly incorporate supplements into my diet, like that of fish oil, and so to find quality fish oil for only $3.00 was a treat. The Calm & Focus support was a very cool supplement which I found to help clear my morning foggy brain, while also helping in situations where my stress level had been tempted and pushed over the edge, since it helped to ease my reeling mind and symptoms regular to an overtaxed stress level.

Brandless has a line of kitchen tools and gadgets that are relatively lower end, but work great for folks starting new homes or for people who don’t cook all of the time. Their kitchen and gadget kit includes a range of cooking utensils and knives, along with a pizza cutter, whisk, ice cream scoop, measuring cups and more. All in all, I found Brandless’ products to be equal to most of what you can find in any department store, but priced much cheaper, and more often than not, made better (especially the food). Big fan!
