The other day an avid reader wrote me, asking for my recommendations for a travel stroller; as they explained it, they have a young child that they wish to take overseas to see grandparents in Spain, but were underwhelmed by most choices in their local market. I wrote back with my optimum choice in mind: the YOYO+ Travel Stroller by Babyzen. Why? Because Babyzen is one of the most innovative buggy makers for children safety. The YOYO+ is an easy choice, not only because of its ease of use and feature-rich and accessory-rich lines, but because this stroller was designed for air travel.
When you’re taking your precious one abroad, you can never be too safe or take too many precautions. The world can be a scary place, but just because you’re a parent doesn’t mean you have to stay cooped up at home all of the time. Nor should you be asked to cut corners when it comes to your baby’s safety. The reason I gravitated to the YOYO+ travel stroller is due to it’s ingenious design. The YOYO+ unfolds, popping up with optimum convenience, and can close down just as easily, folding up into a bag that meets most airline cabin luggage standards, so you can take your stroller on the plane with you. The YOYO+ folds down to a very manageable size of 52x44x18 cm when folded.
Focusing a little more on convenience, I’d like to highlight that the YOYO+ travel stroller is designed for ease of use, when in use, as well as when in transport. The stroller comes fitted with a one-handed steering bar, which for me, is important, as there are often times that I need to check my phone, or grab a drink, or take a photo of something as I wander about with my loved ones. That’s definitely not all, as the YOYO+ comes with a XXL storage basket beneath the bed, which was one of my initial concerns. On top of that, the YOYO+ is described as being lightweight and extremely smooth riding, which I can attest to, as the weight ranges from 6.2-6.6 kg depending on the model version. As far as the riding goes, I couldn’t be more impressed, because the YOYO+ comes with a simple 4-wheel suspension system, that makes riding over glaring sidewalk cracks and rough terrain a breeze. I’m not kidding; put a pot of water inside the bed and take it for a cruise – I would be surprised if any sloshed out (though, I wouldn’t fill the pot all the way full – haha).
As far as safety features, the overall design has been simplified for ease of use, comfortability and optimum safety, which is of course the most important aspect of a quality baby stroller. The body is built strong, unfolding and folding with precision, from my initial testing, and is fitted with extendable canopies that provide sun protection (rated at UPF 50+) and a rain cover, just in case. Inside, there’s a flat carryon for infants, with a quality 5-point harness, with a foot cover and headrest. From birth to toddler, the YOYO+ is ready to be your one and only stroller, because of all of its accessories, but mainly due to the ability to upgrade the fabrics to 6+ months. The backrest inclines to 145° and is capable of multiple sitting/laying positions, allowing toddlers to face the front.
Overall, I came away very impressed with the YOYO+ after giving it a try, not only because of how easily it pops up, folds down, and stores for air travel, but because of how high quality the design/build is, and for its safety features. The YOYO+ comes together without issue, providing loved ones with a safe space to get around in, which is what’s most important. I fell in love with its versatility and its smooth ride, and will continue to recommend the YOYO+ for any parent who are travelers or not.
