Cradle of a mythical civilization whose influence is kept alive in many areas of its contemporary culture, Greece hosts an innumerable amount of attractions of different kinds.

From the most purely cultural parts, located in its museums and its multiple archaeological sites, to unique landscape richness and a varied entertainment, Greece has so much to over travellers. Its numerous places of interest make us wonder about the best ways to organize a trip with the Hellenic country as a destination. And we speak in plural because, depending on our preferences and specifications, there are several travel concepts from which we can finish shaping our ideal experience.
Circuits, cruises and tailor-made trips
The aforementioned abundance of attractions in Greece can be largely covered by a well-planned tour. So we have resorted to the opinion of authentic experts in the organization of trips to Greece, in order to show us the best ways to organize ourselves and, in this way, nothing will be overlooked during our next stay.

From the travel agency in Greece, GreekTravelTellers, we’ve heard that the different combinations of tours in Greece that are available are perfect to optimize the stay. Of course, they add, always keeping in mind that they follow a rhythm that respects the leisure times.

At the same time, the experts propose to us another alternative way of exploring the country that is becoming more and more demanded: Cruises. A choice that is highly recommendable for those who wish to take advantage of those days to also know other nearby countries like Italy, Croatia or Malta. All this on board authentic giant ships equipped with the maximum luxuries, comforts and, above all, overflowing with the entertainment provided by their leisure programs.

Another modality of travel increasingly demanded is the tailor made or custom trips. The benefit of such alternative way of traveling is that we will know some of the programmed stops as we will have them personalized according to what we like. Or, plain and simple, we will be given the luxury of enjoying various services or exclusive accommodation. If we wish to personalize our experience to the maximum detail, such tours and trips are perfect. In these cases, the way to proceed is usually quite simple: we set our preferences and define our budget, before which the specialized agency in question will offer us the different possibilities tailored to our needs.

Tourist attractions of Greece
Having seen the types of travel, in order to keep in mind the most interesting parts of the country at the time of being able to choose our suitable trip, we asked specialists for the most outstanding destinations. Following their advice, we propose the following list of Greek tourist attractions with the most relevant information of each one.

Athens
We start with its capital: Athens, the cradle of democracy, with the Parthenon, the Propylaea, the Erechtheion and the Athena Nike temple of its Acropolis as the maximum sign of identity. A must stop not only for lovers of classic history, but for anyone who is open to enjoy its stunning cityscape or willing to delve into its exquisite and healthy cuisine.

The Peloponnese
For its part, the Peloponnese Peninsula also has a major cultural importance thanks to the number of monuments from different periods of Greek history that presents, from Olympia to Mycenae, Tiryns and Epidaurus. At the same time, it is a perfect opportunity to relax in any of its beaches on the western side and, of course, to continue tasting the culinary proposals of the country.

Thessaloniki and the region of Thessaly
Capital of historic Macedonia (and the current Greek region of Central Macedonia), Thessaloniki has many historic enclaves of first class and is the ideal starting point to visit the mythical Olympia. For its part, in the nearby region of Thessaly, Meteora stands out as the most representative place, where the multitude of unique monasteries and the rugged orography of the area create an absolutely unique image.

Greek islands
Almost all of us have heard of Crete, Mykonos, Corfu, Santorini or Rhodes, Greek islands known for their historical legacy, idyllic beaches or, in many cases, for both. However, there are other multiple gems in the form of lesser-known islands such as Aegina, Folegandros, Ioannina, Meteora, Zakynthos or Skiathos, among many others.
