Everyone dreams of travelling to Athens, the city where democracy was born and the famous ancient Greek culture flourished. With its warm and welcoming Mediterranean sun and its smiling people, it is a destination in every traveller's hearts who is appropriately informed. All these great and exciting things that Greece's capital offers - some of them are totally free - certainly include the possible dangers it presents, as in every new country we visit. Knowing about these potential dangers prepares us to take those appropriate measures to protect and deal with potential threats and risks. These dangers can be physical, but they have to do mainly with your belongings and valuables that you have taken with you on the trip.
Keep a low profile
When we mean keeping a low profile, we suggest not holding your valuables in plain sight. These valuables could be a camera, an expensive smartphone or even your wallet in which you keep all your cash and cards. Those who aim to harm you will surely notice all these objects on you and try to pull them away. So keeping a low profile means going unnoticed, which in this case will work positively for you.

Stay away from informal methods of transportation
Athens is a European city flooded with thousands of taxis. You can find on each street by a taxi which is available to take you to the destination of your choice. However, this does not mean that you should treat all taxis as a safe means of transportation. Several scammers out there will try to deceive you by picking you up from central points such as the airport or train station to make a profit at your expense. They adjust their taximeter in such a way and choose longer routes, in order to extract more money during your transport. So pay special attention to the specific "professionals".

Secure your hotel room or Airbnb
Staying in a hotel room or an Airbnb is not the safest solution. Burglary cases are many, so all you have to do is secure and protect your belongings by locking all your hosting entrances. Another effective way is to close your windows and curtains without further exposing the inside of your lodge to would-be robbers.

Keep your valuables in safe places
In closing, we must mention how important it is to keep your things in safe, protected places in your clothes and in your protective bags. The thieves who frequent the busy streets and the various means of transport turn to all those "easy targets", who place all their existing in places accessible to them, as a result of which they become victims of theft.

But these thefts create more significant problems than the disappearance of these valuables. They make bureaucratic issues, putting in a challenging position the visitors who often lose their various identification documents, who are forced to seek the valuable help of a lawyer, you’ll want to find lawyers in Athens, Greece who can offer you  practical legal advice and protection in the difficult moments of this loss.
