Vapor Review: featuring the Pax 3 Vaporizer

In the new and exciting world of legalized cannabis, all sorts of new inventions, toys and new takes on old ways of doing things are coming out onto the market. How, you might ask… Well, with new minds and a new vision comes a new way of thinking about a plant that was once thought to be among the most dangerous in the world. But with the advent of the internet, truth is coming out of the tainted propaganda campaigns, and so things are changing; and fast.

Among the newest of innovations is from the world of vaporizing, or vaping, rather. Sure, vaporizing isn’t exactly the newest kid on the block, as it’s been around for some years now, but what’s new is that the vaporizers are getting smaller, more high tech, and can handle more than just dry herb. There are vaporizers as small as an ink pen, as large as a desktop computer screen, and there’s some that can handle all sorts of sources. There are vaporizers that have ovens, others have coils, and nails, and even some other models have the ability to connect with and be controlled by a smart phone. Amazing, right?!

One of those very rare, versatile vaporizers is the famous Pax 3 unit by Pax Labs, formerly Ploom, who have gained fame steadily over the past few years with their small, sleek and powerful vaporizers. Their previous models, the Pax and Pax 2, were designed for only dry herb or cannabis flowers, and while each of those models were exceedingly well designed and built to last, the new Pax 3 offers a new world of possibilities.

The Pax 3 device is a dual-use vaporizer, specializing in dry herb and extract (concentrates, wax, shatter, dab, oil, etc.), which can easily be switched between by way of a simple adapter piece that comes included with the Pax 3 kit. Other new improvements include an extended battery life (providing 8-10 sessions per charge), a more effective and more powerful oven, and connectivity via bluetooth to your phone. You may be curious, ‘why in the hell do I need to connect my vaporizer to my phone?’ And I would answer that it isn’t necessary for the operation of the device, but it is pretty cool. The Pax App is downloadable in the app store and is easy enough to use, by simply connecting with bluetooth you can control your vapor experience: by changing the light colors, the vibration feature that’s also new to the Pax 3, as well as change temperature, which is important for getting the most out of your concentrates (and flavor).

Pax offers a 10 year limited warranty on the Pax 3, which should tell you how well they make their devices. None of the past ones I’ve used ever died, either, but it’s nice to know you’re covered. The Pax 3 has over sixty temperature settings, while offering a best-in-class heat-up rating of 22 seconds, which is way faster than the older models. The Pax 3 is a smart device for an exciting modern age of cannabis. I would even go as far as naming Pax the Apple of vaporizing, because of how well their product is made, how simplistic yet powerful, and for how their brand and packaging is. For me, personally, there’s no portable, discreet vaporizer that can rival the Pax 3. That is my honest opinion, and educated opinion, because I’ve tested several of the market’s top vaporizers and nothing compares. Hands down, please.
