It's hard not to love Amanda Palmer just a little. She's got such a unique view on the world.

It's interesting you tweeted this out. I love social media, but a big problem I have with it is people use it to broadcast instead of connect. And it has so much potential for connecting. Asking questions is the only way to connect(in "real" life, too, right?) and get to know someone. But,she's right, it does require trust. Most people don't do it, because they fear rejection and the possibility that nobody will respond. But...what if someone does? And the thing is,the right people do respond if your motives are positive. That's the cool part. Thanks for posting. She's awesome. TED's awesome. And finding new ways of connecting with all sorts of people is awesome. :)

I think that the majority of people fear rejection. Putting oneself out there and not getting any response is something that is a shared fear between people.
